Zoom H4N Handheld Digital Recorder
Carrying on from where the bestselling H4 left off, Zoom's H4N is one of the most versatile and sophisticated portable recorders on the market. With a new and significantly improved user interface, the H4N offers ease of use and portablility whilst delivering professional quality recordings.
The built-in, upgraded X/Y stereo condenser microphones are very sensitive, capturing even the smallest of details in a sound, also allowing for variable recording patterns at either 90° or 120°. The large onboard 1.9 inch LCD screen is backlit and easy to navigate around, and a built-in speaker allows quick and simple monitoring of your recordings. As well as operating as a standard stereo recorder, the H4N also doubles up as a 4-track recorder. A major improvement that this model has over it's predecessor is the ability use both the internal mics and external inputs simultaneously to record 4 channels at the same time. The balanced combination XLR mic inputs also double as Hi-Z jacks inputs, allowing for musicians to plug guitars, basses and other line level instruments directly into the H4N. Other new additions for the H4N are the variable speed playback capability, allowing for “phrase training” and an onboard effects processor with over 50 guitar and bass settings.
In the H4N, Zoom have made their most robust unit with a shock resistant, rubberised body and tough, metal microphones. The H4N records high-resolution audio at 24bit/96kHz on SD removable media (shipped with a 1Gb card but expandable up to 32Gb), is fully USB 2.0 compatible and when operating in "stamina" mode, will operate continuously for an amazing 10 hours on a single set of AA batteries. Other features carried over from the H2 and the old H4 models are the time stamp and track marker functions, ensuring your recordings are catalogued, easy to find and are Broadcast Wave Format compatible.
As well as the 1Gb SD card, The Zoom H4n field recorder is shipped with wind/pop screen, mic clip adapter (allowing the unit to be mounted on a mic stand), an AC power suplly, USB cable, protective case and a copy of Cubase LE recording software which allows for PC based audio editing.
