The Roland CD2i is yet another of Roland's handy tools that packs an extra-ordinary amount of features, primarily this is a portable CD/SD Card recorder that will allow the user to burn finished CD's withouit the aid of a computer. The built-in high quality stereo condenser microphones allow the capture of live performance audio, yet there's also the option of recording from a seperate external source thanks to the stereo line -in inputs - so for example you could digitally convert your old vinyl records and archive them onto CD ...
For those who are a little more creative there's the facility to create a performance and then over-dub additional parts, or alternatively how about improving your musical skills with the CD-2i’s onboard practice features. You can repeat sections of audio for repetitive study, change key and tempo or decrease the tempo without changing pitch, to learn tricky sections of songs. The onboard metronome also makes the CD-2i ideal for music teachers and students and provides the ability to record lessons and performances, and thereafter analyse the performance with clean, clear detail.
Despite the ease of operation, some may find all of this a little daunting which is why Roland have included the Easy Guide facility - basically this is instruction led commands that appear on the LCD screen, the innovative Easy Guide feature leads you step by step through each operation, with instructions available in six languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese). By using the Rehearsal function, the CD-2i can even automatically adjust the input level to get the best sound without the hassle of trial and error making this a very user friendly and intuitive product. It will also run on either 6 x AA batteries or the included A/C adapter and comes with an SD card, Blank CD Media plus a credit card type remote control ...
