Product Information

The BR1200 is a compact all-in-one professional, portable 12 track digital studio. It provides all the tools you need to record, mix and produce CD quality recordings both in the studio and on the move. The BR1200 has twelve digital audio tracks, two tracks can be recorded simultaneously via XLR, jack or phono inputs and each track has fifteen virtual tracks which means you can bounce tracks together without ever erasing the original track data or down-grading the audio quality. The CDR drive can read and write audio CDs , CDR and CDRW as well as being used for data back-up facilities. Audio can be easily cut, pasted and freely moved around in a non destructive way and there is a dedicated high impedance instrument input.

The BR1200CD has a wide variety of built-in 24bit COSM effects for recording purposes including :- guitar, bass and keyboard sounds, mastering tools with vocal pitch correction, channel eq, amp models, mutli - fx, compressors, modulation, reverbs etc. There are over 260 different preset patches to get you started and set the creative juices running, the BR1200CD can also be used as a phrase trainer with the ability to slow down difficult sections without changing the pitch.

Songwriters will benefit from using the BR-1200CD?s built-in rhythm programmer, packed with 600 expressive patterns. The realistic backing tracks can be used as an inspiration for both writing and recording, with the ability to customise or personalise rhythm patterns using the handy EZ compose function. The BR1200CD will allow the user to import and export audio files and song data quickly and easily - it is merely a case of simply dragging and dropping your favourite WAV files from a USB-equipped computer directly into the BR-1200CD. Conversely, you can export audio that you?ve created internally on the BR-1200CD to a PC or Mac.

The BR1200 has a built in 40Gb hard drive giving you approximatly 120 hours recording time, according to the amount of recorded parts. Also provided is a digital optical output, a MIDI output for sync and playing external rhythm sounds , whilst a footswitch socket (eg DP-2) can start/stop, punch in/out or be used as an fx by-pass.

Since the introduction of the Porta-Studio in the early 1980's compact home-recording units have come a long way. Digital Technology and the ability to produce it for a fraction of what it used to cost now means that 8, 12 and 16 track digital multi-track units are affordable to a host of musicians and song-writers ....

This has helped to sound the demise for the high-end expensive digital recording studios of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Most studios now consist merely of "Programming Suites" and many commercially available portable Digital Recorders are of sufficient quality that albums can literally be made in a bedroom...

The BR1200CD is one of a range of Boss Digital Multi-Track recorders that can allow just that .... the quality, range of effects, tools and options means that with a little care and a decent Microphone or two you can record your concept album in the attic and conquer the world by hanging your original material on one of the many show-case new-music websites that exist ...

Whilst this Multi-Track recorder is probably a bit daunting for complete novices, for experienced users it should be completely intuitive as the lay-out is sufficiently user-friendly to produce CD quality recordings within a few hours - although you may need to have the manual handy. Otherwise I have no problem in recommending the BR1200CD, the recording quality is outstanding - as is the quality of the effects and Boss have managed to shoe-horn all of this into a small, compact package that doesn't cost an appendage .... available now at the Nevada Music |Warehouse ...
