Cables
The often forgotten and overlooked elements of a PA system are the leads and cables that join together the various components of the sound system.
It makes little sense in investing a significant sum of money in a good quality PA, only to use shoddy or inferior connecting cables that will degrade the performance of both the equipment and the performers.
It is therefore important to choose good quality speaker cables (unscreened) and jack cables (screened), so that a strong signal is transferred between the amplifiers and speakers.
Ensuring Spares Are Readily Available
It may also be wise to carry a number of spare cables just in case existing ones get smashed, cut or shorted, so every experienced musician tends to have a secret stash of miscellaneous cables for those emergency moments when they may be required.
