However the PT-7 is much more than a handy chromatic tuner, as it also offers a metronome facility and can be utilised as a snapshot or sketchbook recorder for song or melody ideas ...
The PT-7's primary function is that of a high-speed chromatic tuner, and is adjustable to 7 alternate scales, with a display that's ideal for students to practice finding their pitch on wind and string instruments. The secondary use is as a metronome which plays from the built-in speaker or headphone output at tempo rates of 30 to 300bpm in six time signatures.
Finally the PT-7 can be used as a mono recorder and employs the internal mic to capture song ideas on the go,the control parameters within the PT7 allows the user to listen back to a phrase or slow down a tricky passage to play along. Whilst the PT7 was specifically designed for the acoustic instrument player and educator its use is not exclusive to that genre, the PT-7 is the ideal companion for any instrument player, from student wind instruments to electric guitar.
