Reviews
No guitar is complete without the strings - and the correct gauge (width) of strings can make a considerable difference to the sound that you make and to your own individual playing style. The choice of gauges that are available within the Ernie Ball string range can be quite daunting, especially to the new player - but we encourage musicians who are starting out to experiment a little with string gauges until they find one that's best suited to their needs.
A good starting point is the Ernie Ball 009 gauge as this provides plenty of body to the sound but is a light enough gauge to offer plenty of bend capabilities to the string set. It's also worth bearing in mind that when you change your strings for a thicker or thinner gauge, you may need to make minor adjustments to the intonation of the instrument to ensure that the guitar stays in tune all the way up the fretboard ...
This particular string gauge is the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky gauge 010-046 and is perfectly suited to rock or blues style guitar and for those players who like a little more substance to their sound. The 10-46 gauge provides plenty of bottom end depth whilst the top strings provide adequate string bend for soloing - Check out the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky Gauge now at the Nevada Music Warehouse ...
