The Gibson SG Special has always represented a combination of looks, functionality, and value, and the new Gibson Faded SG Special Electric Guitar maintains this legacy. Under its attractive Worn Brown faded finish, it's the SG we've come to know and love - with a Mahogany body and neck, a tune-o-matic/stopbar bridge, and Alnico 490 twin humbucker pickups.
The faded finish gives it the look of an electric that started its rockin' days in the '60s when it was due to be endorsed by Les Paul himself, however Les Paul didn't take to the SG and didn't wish to endorse the instrument. The fashion back then was for a twin cut-away thin bodied electric - hence the development of the SG guitar. The rest ....as they say ... is history, as countless guitarists over the past 4 decades have helped to turn the SG into an undeniable rock icon guitar ...
