The Fender Road Worn range is a step down from their "Relic" series, the Relic finish implies that the cosmetically aged guitar is at least a few decades old whilst the "Road Worn" finish is less severe suggesting merely that the guitar has seen plenty of use but is not as old as the cosmetics on the Relic advocate. This type of cosmetic aging process seems to be fashionable at the moment with plenty of guitar players subscribing to the aged look and preferring it to the glossy new models ...
The Fender Road Worn Player Stratocaster has been crafted using an Alder body that has a lightly worn lacquer finish, the neck and fretboard are Maple with black dot fret markers and medium jumbo frets, it's worth mentioning that the fretboard on the Road Worn player model is noticeably flatter than on the standard model. The bridge is a vintage style synchronized tremolo bridge that along with the jack insert plate and machine heads is finished in Chrome, the body has a Road Worn 2-tone sunburst finish with cosmetically aged paint chips and plastic parts.
