Product Information

BC Rich Dark Arts Warlock Guitar

Here?s another model from the BC Rich Warlock range that will appeal to all of the metal head guitarists who rejoice in this genre of music. The Dark Arts Warlock uses a 40mm thick Agathis wood body and Maple neck with a 24 fret Rosewood fret board that has white diamond shaped inlays as fret orientation markers. The headstock is the instantly recognisable ?Widow? style that has been painted the same colour as the body ? the choices of colours are Blood Red or Onyx (Black)

The pick-ups are two high gain out put hum-buckers located at the neck and bridge positions and are managed by a single tone and additional volume control along with a 3 way toggle selector switch. The bridge is the now familiar tune-o-matic style complete with a string through body tailpiece and all hardware including the machine heads, control knobs and bridge have been finished in black.

Gig-stig

Every time I review the various models of Warlock I struggle to describe the actual body shape which looks as though it was made from the wood off-cuts bin as none of the elements of the shape are symmetrical.

Undoubtedly this instrument is purposely targeted towards the legion of metal guitarists who are equally concerned by image as they are by the sound of the instrument. That’s not a criticism, as many other guitar players consider the cosmetic look of the instrument when purchasing, but was mentioned due to the striking shape and appearance of the Warlock.

The sound - as you’d expect is voiced to produce lots of mid-boosted gain that will provide massive sustain and saturated distortion when overdriven as this is the stereo typical sound used within the Metal genre of music. So I guess like the advert you could say that it does what it says on the tin … creates metal mayhem when connected to an appropriate source of amplification ..
