Boss DD3 Digital Delay Pedal

The Boss DD-3 is one of the worlds best selling delay pedal providing pro quality sound whilst being simple to use.

HOLD MODE

As well as working as a standard delay pedal, giving variable delay speeds from 12.5ms to 800ms, the DD-3 also has a HOLD mode. It?s really easy to use but can be used to great effect. Basically its a loop mode, simply set the delay time, push your foot down on the pedal and play. the sound will start to loop/repeat. Each time the sound loops round you can add to it, creating rich atmospheric tapestries of sound?or just great fun to play with! Take your foot of the pedal and the loop stops, keep your foot on it and your loop carries on to infinity and beyond.

This pedal also features a direct output, this enables you to take the unaffected signal and send it to one amp and the effect signal to a separate amp.

This does all the things you’d expect from a digital delay pedal and a bit more thanks to the HOLD mode, but there is one thing about this pedal that makes it cooler than a very cool thing. Unlike most other digital delay pedals (including Boss’s other delay, the DD-6), this pedal will react like an old analog delay when you alter the delay time whilst the sound is still echoing, resulting in a change of pitch. Turn the F.BACK knob up full and the sound will start feeding back on itself creating added harmonics and almost synth like swoops and echos…it’s difficult to describe in words, but it’s a sound effect used regularly by the likes of Radiohead, Muse and Mogwai. This is a great pedal.
