Inexpensive Alternatives

Getting started with any instrument is a bit of a lottery; initial enthusiasm can often wane as the realism of hours of practice and slow gradual progress sets in, particularly for children. Therefore splashing the cash on a top-quality instrument, which may or may not see continuous use in the foreseeable future, is a little dicey at best. This is why cheap instruments are the ideal starting point, giving the budding musician a decent foundation, before either upgrading the instrument or buying a new one when slightly more conversant.

Balancing Cost & Quality

Whilst quality levels may be comparatively low in cheaper products, they are by no means poor. Cheap instruments tend to use lower grade materials, feature a more generic design and perhaps don't have the same audible resonance, however build quality and the fundamental blueprint across all ranges remains very good. Therefore, even when buying a reasonably priced instrument, you will still be getting something fully capable of outputting a decent sound and built to last long into the future, perfectly balancing the differential between cost and quality.
