Ashton are a company based in Australia who make a variety of musical instruments and amongst other product provide Ashton Ukuleles in a range of colours although the one depicted here is in a more traditional Mahogany finish. Undoubtedly the colourful finishes will appeal to small children and will provide hours of fun as they strum along to their favourite tunes ....
Ashton Ukuleles are reasonable quality instruments that are suitable as a play toy but may not be of the required standard as an instrument to learn on. I feel I must therefore make parents/grandparents aware that although little 'uns will enjoy playing with the Ashton Ukulele I couldn't truly recommend it as an instrument for someone who is serious about learning how to play the Ukulele ...
However as a first introductory instrument for a small child to develop a sense of rhythm the small body of the Ashton Ukulele is ideal. The nylon strings also mean that tiny fingers won't get sore as they might if using steel strings, the Ashton Ukulele also comes with a matching colour gig-bag for easy transportaion and storage.
