The Peavey Vypyr 30 Digital Modeling Amplifier is part of the new range of modeling amplifier combos created by Peavey using solid state technology, it also utilises 32 bit floating point SHARC processors so that the modelling software can make accurate detailed representations of the amp emulations.
The Peavey Vypyr 30 Digital Modeling Amplifier houses a 12" custom voiced modeling loud speaker which produces 30 watts RMS, 24 amp models are represented configured as 12 clean and 12 dirty from some of the world's most popular guitar amplifiers. Aside from this there's 11 editable rack effects and 11 editable foot pedal effects with the option of up to 5 effects running simultaneously ...
There's also an on-board looper and chromatic tuner plus there's an optional Sanpera II footpedal that you can purchase that can hold up to 400 patches, not forgetting the studio quality headphone out socket and the Tap Tempo control for configuring delay timings ... The Vypyr 30 itself is great, has an excellent tone, far
more colourful than the Line6 with less fuzzy/hissy but more 'edgy'
distortion.
Sounds more like a real amp distortion than a digital pedal effect. Superb.
Amp came pre-installed with v1.59 of the firmware already updated, no issues to report.
IMO if Peavey were to allow their PC-based modelling software to
interface with the amp itself they'd have an unbeatable offering.
