Peavey’s 6505 is the famous 5150 designed in conjunction with Edward Van Halen re-released named in celebration of Peavey's first 40 years, 1965 to 2005. The 5150 proved to be a very popular choice among hard rock and heavy metal bands due its massive output and extremely heavy tone. The 6505 carries on in this vein delivering the awesome tone of the 5150, features including Presence and Resonance controls and three-band EQ with which you can tame this beast to deliver some punishing sounds. Make no mistake this amp is a monster, with the likes of Unearth and Chimera endorsing these amps you kinda get the gist  of where its coming from, but also don’t forget that Eddie Van Halen helped design this so its by no means a one trick pony.

Technical Bit

The 6505 is a 120 watt All-Valve guitar amplifier, 5 12AX7 Preamp tubes and 4 6L6GC power tubes, featuring two footswitchable channels, first channel is a Rhythm channel with pre and post gain, a bright switch and a crunch switch, the second channel is a Lead channel also with pre and post gain. The two channels share a 3 band EQ and presence and resonance controls. There is also a post EQ effects loop capability with this amp.

The 5150 was a massively popular amplifier with a really killer tone, and the 6505’s are just that too. A reliable road worthy amplifier the 6505 will satisfy your heavy metal needs down to the ground, and the lead channel on these just scream shred all day and all night. There are a whole array of wicked and brutal tones available from this amplifier and the fact that its all valve means its got tone to die for.
