The Orange PPC 212 speaker extension cabinet has been designed to match several of the Orange amp heads and Combos and will happily play along with the AD30TC and the Rockerverb range as well as several of the Amp heads. The Orange PPC212 contains two Celestion Vintage 30 12 inch speakers and uses an 18 Ply Birch Plywood chassis which gives the cabinet a greater density but also more natural resonance.

The Orange PPC212 is rated at 120 watts RMS at 16 Ohms impedance and standard connection utilises a quarter inch jack interface. The cabinet is covered in the immediately identifiable bright Orange leatherette with a straw coloured basket weave grille and the Orange logo located in the centre of the grille. Each corner has impact resistant plastic corner protectors and there is a sturdy metal grip handle on each side for ease of carrying. The Orange PPC212 2 X 12 speaker extension cabinet has been designed with the same footprint as the Rocker 30 combo, with the intention of giving more onstage oomph, it also makes for a cute mini-stack when partnered with an Orange amp head.

 

Like all Orange speaker cabinets, the PPC212  features rugged 18mm birch ply close-back construction – thankfully with no MDF in the equation. As always, we are reminded that this is a company that really knows how to build a speaker cabinet properly. The single 12-inch speaker inside is, as expected, a Celestion Vintage 30, and something about the mid-range character of these high quality drivers seems to fit the current wave of Orange amplifiers perfectly..

 

Although other speaker cabinets may work fine with your Orange amp, we would always recommend using Orange's matching cabinets such s the Orange PPC212 depicted here. Not just so that the bright orange boxes match up cosmetically, but also because we have found that they are a better sonic match for each other, and that the speakers have been specifically voiced to the characteristics of the Orange range of amplifiers.
