Kerry King and his band Slayer have made a name for themselves being one of the most uncompromising and brutal thrash metal bands that the world has ever seen, their sound has become a large part of the work they do with countless up and coming bands trying to recreate this wall of sound. Kerry has used his trusty JCM800 for many years now and has used it on many Slayer albums. Now working alongside Marshall Amps, Kerry and Jim (Marshall)have created a signature head reminiscent of the JCM800 but with some extra features.
Wanting to keep things simple (there?s no room for fiddly channel changing when your mesmerising an audience with the heaviest of heavy metal) this single channel Marshall 2203KK amplifier head has no reverb and no built in effects. The Marshall 2203KK 100 Watt Master Volume amp is an all valve monster amp head that packs a 100watt punch and distinctive Marshall Roar.
There is however one little button you may consider pushing, this button is the Beast, once pressed two more dials are ready for action these are, Assault Intensity and Gate Threshold. Assault Intensity gives you access to Kerry?s own EQ sound that?s made him what he is today, the Gate Threshold is a built in noise suppressor which enables you at least a chance of Taming this Beast. The Marshall 2203KK100 watt amp head is one of those - What you get is what you see - type amplifiers, there are no airs and graces with this monster it simply does what it says on the tin ... In the words of that reverred old petrolhead sage Jezza Clarkson the 2203KK provides "Power, power and more power ..."
So you won't need to spend time setting up Reverb decay times on the Marshall 2203KK or auditioning the 14 different types of modulation effect, just switch the beast on and turn the monster up all the way to 11. You'll either completely clear the room or you'll have a sea of metal heads nodding in admiration as you power slam your guitar to oblivion ...
The Marshall Kerry King 2203KK amp head is certainly not for the faint hearted, Kerry himself named it "The Beast".
