Product Information

Yamaha FG730S Acoustic Guitar

At first sight the FG730S is an extremely attractive and beautifully finished acoustic guitar. The review model has a vanilla blonde Sitka spruce top whilst the Sycamore sides and rear have a strong vertical Tiger-stripe graining that contrasts perfectly with the spruce top.

The actual guitar neck is slim enough so that electric guitarists who have become accustomed to the slimmer style of neck can quickly adapt and it allows for fast fingering and soloing. The machine heads are smooth and accurate and the guitar generally benefits from the recently developed build technology that Yamaha have adopted on their DW range which includes the “L” shaped neck block.

The FG730S is available in a variety of finishes and has a delicate pin-striped black and cream binding around the edge of the body.

The FG730S is a stunningly attractive acoustic guitar and is extremely well made with an interesting choice of finishes. The sound is tight and bright but what appealed most is the exquisite balance of tonal range right across the frequencies on this model. It handles classic country strumming just as well as the contemporary pop genre and is an exceptionally good workhorse guitar adapting well to almost any requirement.

This acoustic guitar sits equally well with a beginner, a seasoned pro or even an electric guitarist who occasionally likes to go native or is likely to have need of a versatile acoustic instrument for home demos or studio work. Sit down and play the FG730S … you won’t want to give it back ….
