Yamaha FG700MS Acoustic Guitar
The FG700MS is part of Yamaha’s Dreadnought acoustic guitar range, the FG range, which has been around for at least 3 decades has been modified by using modern manufacturing techniques previously used on the DW range.
These design amendments include a completely new neck block which has shown to enhance the actual acoustic volume of the guitar along with an improved low frequency resonance.
Other new features include a new perloid headstock logo, smaller fret position markers, a tortoise shell pick-guard and a newly designed rosewood bridge. Another acoustic guitar in the range - the FG700S has identical specification to the FG700MS but differentiates itself by a high gloss finish; the FG700MS on the other hand is supplied with a matt finish.
Reviews
This acoustic guitar from Yamaha has really good acoustic resonance and the “L” shaped neck block does actually make it sound a whole lot louder when tried against other similar models. The rosewood fingerboard plays well and the sound is bright and lively with plenty of bottom end “oomph”.
This guitar would suit a wide range of tastes from a beginner through to a semi-pro gigging musician, and when taking the price into consideration the FG700MS offers incredible value for money. If you fancy yourself as the next Bob Dylan then the Yamaha FG700MS is a very good starting point …
