Reviews
As I'm naturally right handed I once again had to call upon possibly the most annoying person on the planet to help me out with this review - my old mate Lefty .... As usual he arrived late for the review - and this time extremely hung-over and needed several large mugs of coffee before he could remember the name of the planet that he was on ...
Finally, we commenced the review of this left handed Takamine EG340 SC, Lefty gave the instrument a good look-over carefully inspecting the craftsmanship of the finish.I could not possibly print his verbal reaction to the instrument - suffice to say that he was extremely impressed bu the quality of the workmanship and the finish.
He than sat and played the instrument acoustically for around half an hour and it became immediately apparent that this electro-acoustic has a beautiful resonant sound that is well balanced with no obvious dominanting frequency range. Lefty ran through his repertoire of acoustic ditties and tunes befor reaching over to connect the instrument to my M-Box Pro so that we could hear the guitar through my studio monitors ....
The tone of the EG340 SC when electrified certainly didn't dissapoint, it retained much of its acoustic qualities but this time with a slightly prominent, warm bottom end to the sound. Overall we both agreed that this electro-acoustic sounds splendid whilst Lefty swears (literally) it's one of the best acoustics he's played ... see it now at the Nevada Music Warehouse ...
