Martin GPCPA5K

The Martin GPCPA5K Performing Artist series Electro-Acoustic guitar is one of the more affordable Martin guitars and is available here in the grand performance body size with a Solid Sitka Spruce top and a high pressure laminate back and sides that has been pattered to emulate Koa wood which originates from Hawaii. The Grand Performance body shape has a smaller, curvy outline but because of this it feels comfortable when held against the body and the brown Stratabond composite wood material, has a satin finish showing off the very stripy laminated wood. The fret board is Black Richlite, - a kind of man made Ebony, which has a tight grain and a comfortable feel and in truth is in fact remarkably similar to Ebony.  

The pickup system is the Fishman F1 Analogue system, with a very simple and plain arrangement of a small circular LED displays for the tuner, and tone and volume rotary control knobs. Both plugged and un-plugged the Martin GPCPA5K sounds bright and characterful with plenty of mid range depth and bright highs. The tone control can be enabled or dis-abled and in position 1 the EQ is by-passed, giving a completely natural unaffected sound. When pressed in it creates a 'mid scooped' tone with emphasised bottom and top ends and reduced mids. Turning the tone knob changes the frequencies from a thicker punchier sound, through midrange cut for picking, to extra depth and clarity, which in truth may be better for rhythmical strumming. In conclusion the Martin GPCPA5K has a really good variety of versatile tones in both acoustic and amplified environments. Check it out at the Nevada Music Warehouse ...
