Ashton SL29/12 CEQ 12 String Electro Acoustic in Sunburst
If you were to ask most guitar players about 12 string acoustic guitars, eventually the conversation would come around to the part where everyone complains that the guitar neck is wide enough to land a Jumbo jet on it due to having to make space for all 12 strings ... So you can imagine how delighted I was when I picked up the Ashton SL29 CEQ 12 string electro-acoustic to find a sensibly sized guitar fretboard that doesn't actually make you feel like you're trying to stretch your fingers across an ironing board ...
The Ashton SL29 2 string electro-acoustic in Tobacco Sunburst is a single cut-away round shouldered electro-acoustic model, the body uses Mahogany and sports a Flame finished top whilst the neck is also Mahogany with a Rosewood fretboard that has dot position markers for fret orientation. Sound comes courtesy of Ashton's piezo transducer pick-up that is linked to a Prener 4 band EQ with sweepable mid and an on-board tuner.
The bridge like the fretboard is Rosewood and deploys 12 white nylon bridge pins that help to keep the strings tensioned and firmly in place, the body is finished in a stunning Tobacco Brown Sunburst and is bound at the edges. The cosmetics on the Ashton SL29 are completed with an attractive ornate rosette that encircles the sound hole -the oversized headstock (oversized to accomodate the fact that this is a 12 string model) uses chrome enclosed machine heads for accurate tuning.
