Tama Starclassic Performer Birch/Bubinga Indigo Sparkle Burst
The Starclassic Performer is an awesome high end drum from one of the most popular drum companies on the planet. You can find Tama on records from bands ranging from Primus, ZZ Top, Shadows Fall, Justin Timberlake, Deftones, System of a Down and this list is endless.
With the new Birch/Bubinga combination these drums are more sensitive and versatile than ever, bubinga is used on the inside of the shell whilst the birch is used for the outer plies. The Tom drums consist of 4-ply Birch with an inner 3-ply of Bubinga and the bass drum has 5-ply Birch with an inner 3-ply of bubinga. By adding this combination the low end focus is increased on the drum and tuning capabilities are extended.
This kit is sold as a shell pack only, but it does come with all the necessary Tom holders/mounts and the Star-Cast mounting system. This updated mounting system design optimises drum positioning capabilities and increases shell resonance. The tom mounts themselves are now chrome and very slim line, this means you can now position your toms as close together as you like. Die Cast hoops are fitted to the Starclassic series making the drums solid, and tour worthy. An updated floor tom leg design includes air pockets in the feet to provide a good suspension, taking pressure from the tom leg holders.
This Starclassic Performer Birch/Bubinga comes with high quality Evans G2 2-ply Clear batter heads and Evans G1 1-ply Clear heads for the resonant side...no costs cut there!
All in all, this really is one hell of a kit...amazingly, it sounds even better than it looks!
