Classical

Classical Instruments are generally deemed to be those that have involvement playing classical music and are exclusively acoustic by nature. Examples of classical instruments that are available to hire or purchase from Nevada Music are as follows:

• The Flute
• The Clarinet
• The Trumpet
• The Saxophone
• The Violin

Although the saxophone is generally associated with jazz and rhythm and blues music, there have been classical pieces written for the saxophone which is why it has been included in the above list.

Most of the classical instruments listed were invented prior to the 19th century and some long before that. All of the instruments could be included in or be part of an orchestra, however, in today's modern popular music, most of the instruments would be emulated by a sampler or a keyboard containing digital sound samples of the original instrument.

Until the 20th century, classical music was by far the most popular genre of music with the masses and therefore almost all musicians studied and played instruments used in classical compositions. During the last 40 years there have been many collaborations between classical and contemporary musicians and classical instruments are now extensively used during recording sessions and live performances.
