Product Information
Yamaha A1R Electro Acoustic Guitar Natural
The A-series Yamaha Electro-Acoustics were released at NAMM 2011 and provides a fresh approach from Yamaha concerning affordable electro-acoustic models, their mandate was to produce a work horse electro-acoustic yet with an air of sophistication and one which conformed to the outstanding tradition of Yamaha acoustic models ...
The Yamaha A1R uses a Dreadnought body shape with a single cut-away at the right hand shoulder, the top has been crafted from Solid Sitka Spruce whilst the sides and rear are Rosewood, these are the classic combination of tone woods with the Sitka Spruce providing brightness and zing to the sound and the Rosewood adding richness and quality of tone.
The fretboard is Rosewood and uses dot inlays for fret orientation, by contrast the bridge has been made from Ebony and hosts 6 nylon bridge pins to keep the strings firmly in place, there's also a compensated saddle which helps with the string action. Sound comes courtesy of the Yamaha SRT System 66 Pre-amp along with the SRT Under Saddle/Piezo pick-up.
