Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar 3 Tone Sunburst - Rosewood Fretrboard

It?s not often I get to look at new guitars before they hit the shops, however I?ve been sent to check out some of the new releases due in store very soon. So let?s get started...

Squiers Classic Vibe range of guitars has proven to be a huge success. No surprise then that they have expanded the range. First up is the Classic Vibe Telecaster custom.

The body is made of alder and being a custom model is double bound. Maple is used for the neck which is topped with a dark Rosewood Fret board carrying 21 medium jumbo frets. Machine heads are vintage Kluson types and the headstock carries a period correct Fender Logo. Power comes via two custom Alnico V loaded single coil pickups. The bridge pickup is mounted on a vintage style 3 saddle ?ashtray? bridge whilst the neck pickup is sits in the mint green pick guard.

I’m lucky enough to own several guitars; some are nice old vintage examples and a smattering of various custom shop exotica. I also own two Squier Classic Vibe Strats, the only two budget priced guitars in my little collection. I get to see and play more than most and nothing has impressed me more over the last year or so than this fantastic new addition to the Squier range. This Telecaster perfectly sums up what I mean.

It looks fantastic with all its period correct/vintage features. The weight is perfect, nice and light and in my experience that’s consistent right across the range. The finish is flawless, just check out this three tone sunburst. Beautiful! The feel is right; it plays like a guitar costing twice what’s being asked. And finally, they sound great! I don’t know how long Fender plan to keep this range in production but in years to come I predict these guitars will be at least as sought after as the legendary JV Squiers.

Strummed acoustically this guitar vibrates the way only the best do, a sure sign it’s been bolted together correctly. Strapped on, it’s light and comfortable. The neck has a slim, classy feeling to it again way above what you’d normally get at this price point. Played clean its authentic Tele with an abundance of twang. Change the amp settings to "Keef " and this guitar just continues to amaze. For the money there simply isn’t a better deal out there and my current collection of two is all set to rise. Don’t miss out.
