So ... Here's another new fangled synthesizer from those clever bods from Roland, and if you were thinking that the Roland V Synth GT looks a bit nerdy then you'd be correct ... In a nod towards the synthesizers of days of yore this beastie sports a whole host of knobs and buttons just like the dinosaur synthesizers of old. However, unlike those old Brontosaurus synths - the V Snth GT has a variety of controller options including the " ... look at me posing ..." D-Beam controller ...
So what's it all about then .... ? Well firstly this new version 2.0 model is packed with some humdinger sounds that are so lifelike they'll have you looking round the room to spot the cellists and violinists. The AP synthesis has really nailed the realistic timbres of real classical instruments - providing accurate performance characteristics such as sustain, legato, sostenuto and several other classical italian musical commands that end in the letter "o" (Cornetto anyone .... ?)
For those of you frantically rubbing the lapels of your anorak there's loads of nerdy stuff here too ... Wave forms can be adapted, morphed, merged and a few other things that end in "-ed" The V-Synth has more knobs than a knobby thing and should provide hours of endless fun for all the mad professors out there ...
Who's going to buy it ... ? Well technicallly - everyone, however in reality this synth would ideally suit film and soundtrack composers, keyboard players who are into avante garde or new wave music. It's probably a bit too high tech for beginners or guys who just like to push buttons safe in the knowledge that one of the pre-sets they want is under there somewhere ... However, the creative few who love to twiddle knobs deep into the early hours will adore the V Synth GT .... Oh, forgot to mention it also has the ability to attach a microphone for some great vocoder effects and it also has all the necessary MIDI and USB interfaces on-board to connect to a PC/Mac .... Why not enjoy the video and hear some of the fantastic sounds available on the Roland V Synth GT ... See this incredible instument now at the Nevada Music Warehouse ...
