In July of 2008 Dr Jim Marshall reached the ripe old age of 85 years and to celebrate the fact was presented with a special one off designed Marshall Amp head. Marshall then took this design and decided they would manufacture a Limited Number of amplifiers based on this design which I believe is named after Jim Marshall's birth year ... 1923.
Based on the popular JCM 2000 Dual Super Lead platform the Marshall 1923 offers both a 2 x 12? combo and head unit with 50 Watts of EL34 power that provides the distinctive Marshall tone along with 2 x ECC83 valves at the Pre-amp stage. The front panels are finished with a customised colour print design incorporating both the 85th Celebration logo and the Union Jack flag.
Every unit is constructed using high grade Baltic birch plywood for enhanced performance and durability. The Marshall 1923H and Marshall 1923C Combo are special editions with only 500 units of each amplifier being made ...
