Mapex Limited Edition Black Panther Blaster Drum Kit - Trans Walnut BurstMapex are already famous for their best-selling Black Panther snare drum, now here's an entire Black Panther themed 5-piece "Blaster" drum kit that matches the quality and specifications of the snare drum and is finished in a stunning Transparent Walnut Burst.
The secret behind this amazing Mapex Limited edition drum kit is the precise selection and combination of shell design, shell materials, hoops and drum heads. Each of the toms has a a thin traditional 5.1mm American maple shell, added a 3.4mm walnut reinforcing ring and a 5:5 bearing edge with a rounded back cut.
The Mapex "Blaster" is a drum renowned for its deep, warm tone and lightning attack, it uses thin 5.1mm Maple shells (7.1mm on the bass drum) with 3.4mm Walnut reinforcement rings to maximise projection and strength. The rounded, 5:5 back cut bearing edge ensures very smooth contact between the head and shell and maximises the surface area, which in turn helps to increase the resonance as it gets transferred from the head to the drum shell.
The size of each individual drum has been meticulously selected to sit perfectly around the Black Panther Blaster snare drum. The shallow design of the toms offers greater focus and tone as well as a wide tuning range, whilst the 22 x 20 bass drum kicks like the proverbial mule and adds plenty of low-end thud.
The Mapex Black Panther Blaster drum kit is finished with Suede Remo Ambassador drum skin heads and looks terrific in a deep Transparent Walnut burst with black chrome hardware ....
