Product Information

Jackson guitars present the RR5 Rhoads Pro electric guitar in homage to ex- Ozzy Ozbourne and Quiet Riot guitar ace Randall William Randy Rhoads. Revered by many as one of the most influential heavy metal guitar players of the last 25 years, Rhoads life tragically ended in 1982 in an airplane accident.

Prior to his death he was working in collaboration with Jackson Guitars on a signature model guitar and this is the second generation of Randy Rhoads model from Jackson released in the summer of 2007.

The shark-fin shaped body is manufactured from Alder with a thru-body Maple neck, the fret-board is Rosewood and is markedly curved by the guitar nut at the base of the neck with a gradual flattening out as the fret board approaches the neck joint.

The fret position markers are inlaid Pearloid which like the body of the guitar are shaped as a Shark-fin. The head stock is the now infamous pointed Jackson standard configuration that has a slight downward angle and utilises sealed die-cast machine heads.

All metal parts on this instrument are gold plated and include the tune-o-matic bridge, string location plate, machine heads and tone, volume knobs and pick-up selector switch including the base plate that the controls are seated on.

The pick-ups are made by Seymour Duncan  himself a close friend of Randy Rhoads, and are the TB4 Hum-bucking series with one at the neck and a second at the bridge position controlled by a 3 way selector switch, dual volume and a single tone control.

This is a beautifully crafted guitar from Jackson and comes in an eye-catching Ivory finish with gold hardware. The Shark Fin shape will undoubtedly appeal to the Metal lovers of the world whilst the Seymour Duncan pick-ups pack plenty of punch and mid-range sizzle …

This guitar is surprisingly light – perhaps due to the body being made from Alder but you’ll need to choose your guitar stand carefully as the body shape means that the sharp points at the base of the body will otherwise chip easily when you try to stand it up.

A great guitar for those who are passionate about playing rock or metal …. !!
