Hagstrom HB4 Bass Guitar Cream
Hagstrom were a popular guitar range in the late 1960's and early 1970's but then faded away in the 1980's only to return like a Phoenix from the flames in the late 1990's. As a brand they are re-surgent and now appeal to a whole new generation of guitar and bass players with models such as the one depicted here - the Hagstrom HB4 bass.
This double cut-away model utilises a Mahogany body and Canadian Maple bolt-on neck equipped with the unique Resinator composite wood fretboard developed by Hagstrom.This instrument also benefits from the Hagstrom "H-Expander" type truss rod that provides extra strength and flexibility to the instrument neck.
Sound comes courtesy of two Hagstrom HBR-1025 Open-H Rail Alnico 5 Humbuckers positioned at the bridge and neck positions and interestingly these are controlled via a 6-way rotary pick-up controller knob in preference to the usual blade type selector switch. There are also seperate tone and volume knobs that sit adjacent to the Hagstrom Full Contact Bass Bridge, which provides Dual-option string access via the top of the bridge or by the "String through body" method ...
