His melodic style and instantly recognisable sound has earned him a huge army of fans across the world and recognising his contribution to the guitar industry, Fender approached him with a view to designing the Eric Johnson Stratocaster ...The FENDER Eric Johnson Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar brings you an instrument fit for a guitar tone master! Eric is also known for his perfectionism and dedicated search for the "ultimate" guitar. The brainchild of Johnson himself, the Eric Johnson Stratocaster is designed with Eric's own personal features and preferences, and it is made possible because of his expressed desire to give something back to the collectors, players and, especially, the fans who have supported him throughout his career.
The body is crafted from Alder using two pieces whilst the Quartersawn Maple neck sports a Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finnish . The three single coil pick-ups were specially designed by the pick-up gurus at the Fender Custom Shop in California with input from Eric himself. A nice detail is the emulation of a 1957 style tremolo bridge which has period correct string recess. This wonderful instrument also includes a plush hard case.
