Product Information

Ashdown LB30 Little Bastard 30 Watt Valve Bass Amplifier Head

Ashdown's Little Bastard LB30 is perhaps a rather unfortunate name for a bass amplifier, it will undoubtedly cause endless sniggering from school children and in fact it does sound like a mischievous character from the Viz magazine ... One thing is certain however, you won't forget the name of this amp in a hurry, and perhaps in that sense it was a stroke of marketing genius from Ashdown ...

The Ashdown LB30 is a 30-watt valve head amplifier that might be just right if you want that warm, easily-overdriven valve sound reminiscent of the old Fender Bassman tweed line. The design is fashionably retro- looking with big chunky control knobs and red parameter titling, the front panel features High and Low gain inputs, Effects Send and Return, Bass, Middle and Treble controls with Mid Shift, Bass Shift and Bright switching along with a Mute switch and Volume control.

To complete the "Vintage" look of this amp there's an authentic relic type VU meter on the front panel which will help the bassist to set up head room and give a visual indication of  dynamic peaks, there's also a balanced DI output for connecting to an external mixer or recording console/di box. On the underside of the amp are 4 sturdy rubber feet whilst on the top is a chunky rubber handle for carrying this beastie about ...

This amp is more than capable enough for small gigs with its EL84 valve power section and, of course, it won?t put your back out on the way. The Little Bastard's pre-amp stage employs ECC83 and ECC82 valves for a warm response with plenty of tonal depth and all in all this is probably the nicest little bastard you're ever likely to meet ...
