Alesis Multimix 16 USB 2.0 Mixer
The MultiMix 16 from Alesis represents the next step in USB mixers. Previous USB mixers only offered a 2-track stereo digital output, whereas the Multimix 16 utilises the high data transfer rate of aUSB 2.0 Bus, allowing up to 18 direct track outputs to be recorded at once! This ultra?fast, low?latency, 24?bit/44.1?96kHz (with high?end A/D and D/A conversion) interface is ideal for recording simultaneous multiple audio tracks, such as drumkits and live bands, direct to your computer.
So let's get down to the actual spec of the Multimix 16. As well as the USB 2.0, this mixer features separate 1/4? balanced main and monitor outs and a headphone socket for you to monitor your mixes. Input-wise, the Alesis is equipped with 8 high?gain mic/line (XLR and 1/4? balanced) inputs, each with phantom power. Alongside the balanced ins are 4 stereo, TRS balanced 1/4" inputs, ideal for keyboards, drum machines and other stereo sources.
Each channel features a 3?band EQ with high/low shelving and mid band pass/reject, with volume levels being controlled via smooth 60mm faders. The MultiMix 16 USB 2.0 mixer also offers 100 studio?grade 28?bit digital effects including reverbs, delays, chorus, flanging, and pitch effects to augment and compliment your mix. Mac or PC compatible, this mixer will intregrate with most recording software on the market...it even comes bundled with a copy of Steinberg's Cubase LE to get you started. The Alesis Multimix 16 USB 2.0 is a very versatile mixer, just as much at home in the studio as it would be in a live environment, making it simple and easy to get multitrack recordings onto your PC for editing and mixing.
