Product Information

Alesis iMultiMix 16 USB with iPod Dock

The iMultimix 16 is a very versatile mixer from Alesis, equally at home in the studio as it is in the live environment.  It's partypiece is the built in iPod dock, allowing you to record whatever's going through the mixer directly to your iPod providing a really easy way to record your gigs and rehearsals  You can also playback from the iPod through the mixer, making it an ideal choice for live acts using backing tracks...just create your playlist on your iPod, pop it in the dock and you have full control over the pod's functions via the mixer's transport wheel and control buttons.

You can also use the iMultimix as a standard mixer.  This table-top unit has 8 audio channels (8 Microphone inputs and 4 ¼” jack line inputs). There’s 3 band EQ on each channel (Hi-Mid-Lo) along with a pre and post auxiliary control with send and returns that allows you to add any of the 100 on-board 28 bit digital effects that include Reverb, Chorus, Flange and Delay.

But back to this mixers unique feature, recording to an iPod.  Once recordings are complete they can be played back from the iPod as you would a normal mp3.  These files can be transferred to iTunes without the need for a special driver or complicated process.  If you need a mixer for a small home studio, the iMultimix 8 is ideal.  It comes bundled with a version of Cubase LE, user friendly music sequencer software which loads onto your PC. Via the USB port, the iMultimix acts as a sound card enabling 16 bit recording at 44.1 or 48Khz, straight into Cubase. To ensure that your recordings are as clean and pristine as they can be there’s also an in-built Limiter to prevent distortion or clipping whilst each channel has a pan control and an individual gain knob.
