Akai's Music Production Centers have always been at the heart of dance and hip-hop music production...and with the MPC2500, they really have set the bench mark for beat production workstations.
Designed with both studio music production environments as well as live performers and DJs in mind, the MPC2500 features 16 classic MPC drum pads, dual on-board effects processors, four Akai Q-Link controllers allowing for real-time control, an S/PDIF digital output and 10 analog outputs. The onboard 32-voice drum/phrase sampler (expandable up to 128MB RAM) offers extensive editing capabilities, whilst the pads allow easy and expressive programming of the internal 100,000 note, 64 track sequencer. 64 independantly addressable MIDI channels can be assigned from the sequencer to the units four MIDI outputs, allowing for complex sequencing.
The Akai MPC-2500 features a large, hinged backlit screen offering easy navigation and visual representation of your work. A USB connection allows for Mac or PC connectivity whilst a Compact Flash drive (compatibility up to 2Gb) offers an easy way to transfer your beats and samples...Akai even supply the MPC2500 with a CF card preloaded with samples to get you started!

MPC2500 sports a 100,000-note, 64-track sequencer that can be assigned to four different MIDI outputs for a total of 64 independently addressable MIDI channels. Internal sounds reside in flash memory and can easily be swapped out via Compact Flash cards, an optional hard drive, or an optional CD-ROM drive. A CF card with preloaded sounds is included to get you started.
