This German musical instrument and software manufacturer was founded in 1984 by Karl Steinberg and Manfred Rürup and has since been taken over by Pinnacle Systems. However, Steinberg operated as an independent company within the Pinnacle group and continued to produce innovative software before being sold to Yamaha in December, 2004. Their most popular and best selling product is undoubtedly Cubase which for many years was the industry standard software sequencing package and is still equally popular today.
