Shure E4 Personal Headphones
So, here are the latest version of Shure’s In-ear Sound Isolating headphones, namely the E4c’s that have been called “…The BMW of In-ear headphones …” by the American “lads mag” Esquire. Ok, so let’s take a look at them and see what all the fuss is about …
The main difference in the technology of how these headphones work is to do with the upgraded micro-drivers; these are the little pods on the ends of the wires that you stuff into your ear canal. The frequency range and stereo imagery on the drivers has been improved so that you receive wider stereo imagery and a greater range of frequency response which according to other reviews from technology magazines gives a more natural sound.
Shure have developed a “tuned port” driver which apparently improves the air-flow around the in-ear speaker and is tuned in to receive enhanced bass frequencies – which are the ones that are the hardest to re-create within the inner ear. All the rest of the accessories are included such as the Personal Fit Kit complete with various foam and flex sleeves along with some new triple flanged sleeves all of which come in different sizes for different shaped ears.
The E4c’s are ever so slightly heavier at 1.1oz and as usual come with the 2 year limited warranty and are available in black or white.
