Description

Gibson Melody Maker Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst

Resurrecting one of the most popular electric guitars in Gibson's history, the Melody Maker - shown here in a Vintage Sunburst finish, is an accurate, affordable re-creation of the original Melody Makers of the late 1950s.

Originally introduced as a student model, much like the Les Paul Junior, the Melody Maker became a player's favorite for its light weight, comfortable neck, and great tone.

The re-released version of the Melody Maker Les Paul guitar is no exception. With a period-correct scratchplate housing a specially designed single coil pick-up, a vintage-style wrap-around tailpiece, rounded neck profile, and slim, light body, the Melody Maker offers great value for players of all ages, styles, and skill levels and will also appeal to lovers of guitar nostalgia ...

The Gibson Melody maker is a guitar from a bygone era, this re-issue remains faithfull to all the original features from the late 1950's. The advantage that this model has over the original is the massive step forwards acheived in the 21st century in the manufacturing and pick-up design process.

Some people might call this retro-chic, but to those who remember the original it will merely be recalling a very fine model of Gibson guitar. The neck has a delightful comforatble feeling when placed against the palm and the fretboard is equally pleasing, the thin Mahogany body means that its lighter than a Les Paul though some will argue that it has lost a little sustain because of this ...

The pick-ups are soulful and bluesy and if ever a guitar was made for R & B then this is it ... The genius for me is in the simplistic design, high quality raw materials and Gibson build quality ... plus the price of this guitar puts it within the realms of most musician's budget - and you can't often say that about a Gibson guitar.

However if you need futher convincing the only thing I can recommend is that you take a trip down to the Nevada Music Warehouse and try this guitar for yourself. I appreciate it won't be evereyone's cup of tea, but if you dig blues of any description then you're sure to like this fella ...
