In all seriousness there are obviously some people that this will appeal to, firstly it is incredibly light to wear with a strap and has an on-board buffered pre-amp with 3 band EQ to connect to a PA or amp. There's also the fact that fret access is available all the way up the neck for those guitarists who want to trip the light fantastic on an electro acoustic ...

The body is made from a Select Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides and a Mahogany neck, the fret board is Rosewood with inlaid dot position markers. This particular electro-acoustic utilises the Dean T-Wing style sound hole and is finished in a Natural wood colour ...

Unfortunately this electro-acoustic is more concerned with looks than sound and although it uses traditional acoustic tone woods to enhance the natural resonance the thin body does not generate a particularly natural or loud sound.

Yes. OK it looks great if you're into that sort of thing but the looks don't match the sound and even when it's plugged into a source of amplification so that the buffered pre-amp kicks-in, the sound is merely adequate. With careful EQ you can get a half decent electro acoustic sound but when A-B tested side by side with a similarly priced traditional electro-acoustic the Dean V Thin Body pales into insignificance ...

I don't like to offer damning reviews - but on the other hand I feel I need to be honest with anyone who reads this that is looking to buy this guitar. The problem is undoubtedly the size of the resonator chamber which is not much bigger than that on a traditional semi-acoustic such as the 335. So if you're looking for something that will look great on a rock video then buy this, however if you're looking for a good electro-acoustic I'd definately advise you try this before buying ... see it now at the Nevada Music Warehouse ...
