Product Information
Laney RB1 15w Bass Combo
The Laney RB1 bass amp is the smallest in the new Richter line up. It provides 15 watts which should be an adequate amount for home practice and recording. New features include a sturdy wooden cabinet with a tough black carpet covering, metal corners, metal kick-proof grill, chrome control knobs and a decent sturdy handle.
Flexible EQ & Compressor
There are five controls on the front panel and the Gain control accommodates a range of input levels. Bass, middle and treble EQ offer a variable tonal range whilst the master volume - as the name implies sets the overall level. The switchable compressor evens out volume differentials making the bass sound punchier and preventing the onset of distortion.
CD Input & Headphone Socket
The output of a CD/MP3 player can be connected into the bass amp via the line in jack socket so you can jam along to your favorite music. To connect an iPod requires a mini 3.5mm stereo to ¼” stereo jack lead. Headphones can be plugged into the headphone socket which cuts off the internal speaker for private practice. The Laney RB1 weighs 9.5 kg and its dimensions are 375 x 364 x 260mm.
Reviews
The Laney RB1 is an ideal small bass guitar practice combo with plenty of usable features. Considering the relatively low wattage rating this little fella packs quite a punch and it's pleasantly surprising to see a compressor included on an entry level bass combo ...
The EQ is adequate without being great - but then it's worth remembering that this combo has obviously been made to a specific budget. Other handy additions are the ability to connect and MP3 player via the line-in jack whilst parents, girlfriends and wives will delight in the fact that the amp has a headphone input that mutes the main speaker when in use ...
