Although still relatively unknown in the UK, Genz Benz are actually about to celebrate their 25th anniversary as amplifier manufacturers.In the US they are a credible brand and have some high profile endorsees and now Nevada have included them within their bass amplifier product range.
The first thing that strikes you about this combo is the compact footprint and that the entire unit of the amp plus the cabinet weighs in at only 14.55Kg - one of the lightest bass rigs I have ever seen. When you then also consider that the Shuttle 6.0 12T kicks out 375watts into 8 Ohms and a staggering 600 watts into 4 Ohms then you start to experience a lightbulb moment at the realisation that this rig can easily be carried in one hand and is loud enough to fill a stadium ...
The clever design means that on top of the single 12 " GNX12300 Neodymium Speaker cabinet sits a rack chassis that the 1.5U amplifier slides into. The cabinet also contains a tweeter enclosure and the rear ported design also has a base mounted tilt-back kickstand for angling the rig ...

Here's what every bass player has been wishing for ... a lightweight bass combo amp with great features ... Jim has fixed it for you bassmeisters ... Genz Benz have been a long established name in the USA but are relatively new to these shores. I managed a peek at their products at the 2009 Winter NAMM show in Los Angeles ....
The Shuttle Bass Combo is actually a seperate bass head and cabinet, the clever part is that on top of the cabinet is a 1.5U rack slot that the seperate bass head slides into - immediately turning the Shuttle into a combo amp. Quite frankly I was stunned to hear such a small, lightweight unit ( I could easily lift the Shuttle to waist height with one hand and little effort) that packs such depth and clear warm bass tone ...
Not only that, but this pint-sized powerhouse can kick out a staggering 600 watts when wired into 4 Ohms and weighs in at a measly 14.5 Kilos ... The Valve Pre-amp helps to provide warmth to the overall sound whilst the active EQ and Parametric mids enable the user to dial-in thier favourite bass sweetspot ... All in all this is a great product that sounds excellent and won't give you a hernia whilst transporting it ... happy days are here again !
