Ashdown normally produce high output bass amplifiers so I was a little surprised when the cute little Tourbus 10 appeared on my review schedule, however more and more musicians are using compact low-wattage amps for a wide variety of uses from warming up backstage to "travel" amplification or just to get a great, warm sound in a home or project studio ...
This little chap is sturdily built and is designed around solid state technology providing 10 watts output RMS and is fitted with a volume, bass and treble control along with 3 seperate inputs, firstly and most obviously there's the bass input which is standard quarter inch jack format but aside from this there's a stereo headphone input which when used mutes the Tourbus 10's 6.5 inch speaker ...
Lastly there's an input for an iPod or MP3 player so that you can jam along with your favourite tracks, the chassis has metallic corner protectors and is finished in a black leatherette type vinyl with a cross-weave black speaker grille. On top of this combo there's a rugged carry handle and on the bottom of the cabinet are rubber feet to stop the Toutbus 10 from moving when receiving thunderous vibrations from bass frequencies.
