Ibanez AEB 8E Black Acoustic Bass
Ibanez?s AEB8 Acoustic bass features Agathis top, back and sides with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Available in a black finish the AEB8 is an attractive acoustic bass guitar which plays well and sounds great. The depth of the body helps to give this guitar its deep bottom end which is very pleasing to the ear. The AEB8 makes a great addition to any bass rig and will add lots of colour and flavour to those acoustic shows. This bass is very well made and the Mahogany neck matched with the rosewood fingerboard feels very pleasing under the fingers.
The AEB8 also features an Ibanez under the saddle pickup, with an Ibanez SPT preamp that features a 3 band EQ including Bass, middle and Treble controls, a built in Tuner and a shape control. All these features allow you to really play with the tone of this bass to create a whole variety of sounds. The AEB8 also features a ¼? jack input and a balanced XLR input which allows you to plug directly in a PA.

Acoustic basses have become very popular and with good reason, for the money spent the user gets a well made and very versatile bass instrument that can adapt itself to a number of differing musical environments...
Since the MTV unplugged series a few years back, manufacturers have produced a variety of acoustic basses of differing standards and qualities. Ibanez present here the AEB 8E acoustic bass in black and ironically this bass instrument has a comprehensive range of electronic componentry to allow it to be connected to and external amplified source such as a PA system ... so much for the "acoustic" element then ... ?
However that said this is a good entry-level acoustic bass model and has a degree of control to allow the shaping of the sound via the on board pre-amp. Most bass players will use an acoustic bass as a secondary instrument either for practice or perhaps in a studio environment and taken in that context the AEB 8E is ideal as a secondary bass ...
Because of the wide range of tones available, this bass can be used in most popular genres of music and the inclusion of the balanced XLR output means its a doddle to connect to a PA or DI Box.
