I am completely astounded that Zoom has been able to fit all of these incredible features into this H4 unit – and yet still retain such high quality recordings. To have a product like this that retails at around the £200 mark is nothing short of amazing when you think about the amount of facilities contained within this unit.
Just the two high quality condenser microphones would normally match the cost of this unit alone, so when you then consider it also contains a 4 track recorder, digital modelling microphone software, digital modelling guitar amplifier effects and the ability to record over 6 hours of music at a high quality analogue to digital conversion rate, then you start to see the true value of this product.
Its also small enough to take with you anywhere although you’ll probably need a sports bag full of cables, headphones and other add-ons and perhaps your laptop if you plan to use it in conjunction with the free copy of Cubase LE.
If you’re the type of person who likes to take mobile recording equipment with you to various places for those sporadic moments of inspiration then this just might be the tool for you. Otherwise professional broadcasters, roving reporters and outside broadcast units would all do well to check out this product for those anytime anywhere interviews.
