The USB Dual Pre-Amp from ART is high quality dual USB preamplifier. It allows you to connect 2 inputs (either mics or instruments) to your computer for recording and monitoring purposes. Inputs can be either balanced XLR or 1/4-inch TRS jack and 48v Phantom Power can be sent down the XLR inputs to power microphones. These low noise inputs have up to 48 dB of clean gain with signal present and clip LED indicators.
Power for the USB Dual Pre-Amp can be drawn direct from the USB bus, externally via the included 12v mains adapter, or from an internal 9 Volt battery, allowing you to use this interface in a variety of situations. The front panel features the dual inputs and volume controls whilst the rear panel is where you'll find the output, headphone, power and USB conections. Output-wise, a 1/8-inch TRS mini headphone jack with level and monitor mix control allows for latency free direct monitoring. The monitor mix is also routed to the 1/4-inch TRS balanced outputs. This lets you use the 1/4-inch outputs as either preamplifier outputs or as the monitor feed to your powered monitors.
The design of the USB Dual Pre is very compact. It is housed in a sturdy black anodized all aluminum case with rubber sides. With this tough design and multiple power options it is an ideal option to use for mobile recording as well as in home studios.
The USB Dual Pre-Amp is fully compliant with the USB 1.1 specification, using USB adaptive mode for playback and USB asynchronous mode for record. It is complient with the USB audio device drivers built into Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Apple OS9.1/OSX computers with native USB support. No special drivers are needed.
