Description

Shure Beta 57 Microphone

Shure’s Beta 57A instrument microphone is a high output supercardioid dynamic microphone. Typical uses for this microphone would be drums, guitar amplifiers, brass, woodwinds and vocals. The Beta 57A delivers professional studio quality recording to these applications, maintaining a true supercardioid pattern throughout its frequency range insuring high gain-before-feedback.

Feature List

The frequency response of this microphone is tailored for vocals, with brightened midrange and bass rolloff to control proximity effect. A uniform supercardioid response pattern enables very high gain levels before feedback and a superior rejection of off–axis sound. This mics neodymium magnet gives a high signal–to–noise output  and the hardened steel mesh grille resists wear and abuse. An advanced pneumatic shock mount system minimizes transmission of mechanical noise and vibration. The whole mic is built to the same high standards of other shure microphones.

There’s a good reason why the Beta range of mics have become the new industry standard. This mic sounds fantastic although it is suited more for instruments (great on guitar cabs and drums) and higher pitched voices such as female vocals. If you need a top quality vocal mic for lower pitched vocals it’s worth checking Shure’s Beta 58, but if the 57 does what you need, you’d be hard pushed to find a better microphone.
