Roland HP203e Lifestyle Piano with Rosewood Cabinet

For further details on the range of HP pianos please click here

The HP203E offers an exquisite 88-key multi-sampled piano sound under the control of Roland’s new PHA II “Ivory Feel” keyboard with Escapement, along with key touch adjustable to 100 levels.

This stylishly designed home piano model has a powerful speaker system, and is ably assisted by a clear and easy-to-understand operation panel. The piano legs, and elegant European cabinet provide the look and sound of an acoustic piano with a contemporary design. The cabinet itself is available in a Rosewood  finish.

For an authentic acoustic grand piano feel, the HP203E is equipped with Roland’s new PHA II “Ivory Feel” keyboard with Escapement. This recently developed keyboard technology reproduces the real feel of ivory for the natural keys and ebony for the sharps.

It also offers the same natural response as a grand piano, with a heavier touch in the lower range and lighter touch in the upper, and with lighter resistance on pianissimo passages and stronger resistance on fortissimo just like a well-maintained acoustic grand. It even faithfully reproduces the escapement “click feel” of a grand-piano action.

Unlike traditional direct-emitting loudspeakers, the HP203E employs a unique audio system that allows diffused Omni directional sound dispersion and by using this method, the user and the listener perceive the sound just as they would from a real acoustic grand.

Volume issues are easily dealt with by simply adjusting the volume of the internal sound system up or down to suit the environment. MIDI file playback is also possible via USB import and the HP203E can also play back audio CDs from an optional USB-CD drive.

Why not use Roland's Gold or Silver delivery service ... ?*

Roland UK can offer a Gold or Silver delivery service which means that heavy items such as home pianos can be personally delivered directly to your home address from Roland's Warehouse - this service is known as the Silver Service and costs £75.00 in addition to the cost of the piano.

The Gold Service entails both personal delivery and the un-boxing and assembly/setting up of the keyboard in your home, in addition all packaging is removed afterwards. The cost of the Gold service is £100.00 on top of the cost of the piano ...

*These services are available for mainland UK only

Now you’re talking, the HP203 really is a step up into the Premier league of digital pianos. For many years Roland have been in the top tier of electronic "home-style" pianos combining sleek, stylish looks with a great piano feel and a superb authentic grand piano sound.

Roland pride themselves on the fact that the piano sounds in the HP203 are in fact multi-samples of an actual Steinway grand piano (costing over a hundred thousand pounds) and the Roland piano keys have been manufactured to emulate the piano-action from the Steinway.

Aside from the Concert Grand sounds Roland also include some very nice electric piano sounds and a great feature is the ability to layer two sounds together - for example the concert grand and the Rhodes type electronic piano sound for that authentic American David Foster sound.Roland have also included a General MIDI (GM) sound bank and a collection of drums and effects sounds should you wish to connect the piano to a PC or Mac and use music production software.

A particularly clever feature is the facility to be able to split the keyboard in half to effectively turn it into two keyboards in one. This is particularly useful in a student/teacher scenario where the student can see the hands of the teacher whilst hearing the notes ...

This is without doubt one of the nicest pianos I have played and the weighted touch sensitive keys only enhance the experience. If you combine this with the fabulous on-board piano sounds and the additional range of teaching and sound shaping facilities then you're on to a winner ... This piano needs to be heard/played/seen to do it justice as static website photos do not reveal the full beauty of this instrument ... Try this model out down at the Nevada Music Warehouse ...
