Description

Takamine EG128SC Electro Classical Guitar

A classical single cut-away model from the guys at Takamine with an attractive Solid Spruce top and Rosewood sides and back. The neck is crafted from Mahogany with a Rosewood finger-board and 18 medium size frets.

The bridge is also Rosewood with a nylon tailpiece whilst at the opposite end of the guitar you’ll find an open headstock with gold & pearl machine heads. The surface of the guitar is stained in amber with a decorative black rosette around the sound hole and on the shoulder of the guitar you’ll find the on board TP4T pre-amp with 3 band EQ and a built-in guitar tuner.

Visually, there is nothing remarkable about this guitar – the finish is extremely well done but there is little decoration other than the sound-hole rosette. However the EG128SC is exceptionally well made with a shorter type classical body and just 18 frets. As it is a classical model the guitar utilises nylon strings and it is inevitable therefore that many things end up sounding Hispanic in style.

The Pre-amp electronics and pick-up are of high quality and faithfully replicate the natural sound of the guitar in an amplified environment. The EQ provides a good range of tonal options and the built in guitar tuner ensures that tuning is a quick and easy process.

Takamine produce high quality instruments and this one is no exception, the sound, build quality and playability of this instrument is excellent and this quality is reflected in the price.
