Ibanez RG7321BK Black 7 String Fixed Bridge Electric Guitar
Ibanez have become synonymous with 7-string guitars ever since the rise of the 7-string Universe, made famous and popular by the likes of Steve Vai and more recently Korn. So as a result of their experience they released the RG7321 which is a string through body design 7-string with some interesting features. The 7th string as you would expect in standard tuning becomes a low B, but obviously you are only restricted by how you personally tune your guitar and as Korn demonstrated deeper tunings can produce some extremely heavy tones. Obviously as a 7-string Ibanez had the Metal community in mind so this guitar is only available in BLACK!!
Pickup Switching
One of the most interesting features of the RG7321 is the way in which he pickups work, commonly with a guitar featuring only two humbuckers you would have a 3 way selector switch acting in the way a Les Paul standard is know for, but on the RG7321 you have a 5 way selector switch which means you have more tonal options at your fingertips. The neck, Bridge and middle positions act as normal selecting either neck (neck position) bridge (bridge position) or both pickups, but you now have the addition of two extra positions, the first position between the neck and centre connects the neck pickup in parallel and the position between centre and bridge splits the two pickups into single coils.
