This is largely due to the fact that many years ago Gibson purchased Epiphone and under license allowed them to produce instruments for the middle tier market.
Which brings me nicely onto the Epiphone SG310, the phrase “SG” actually stands for “Solid Guitar” and the SG has been around since the 1960’s when it was used by many eminent musicians. The 310 model is also available in this left handed version and has a solid Alder wood body with a bolt-on Mahogany neck and the fret-board is Rosewood. The pick-ups are open coil hum-buckers and each one has its own tone and volume control and is managed via a 3 way switch.
All hardware is chrome plated and this includes the tune-o-matic bridge and tail-piece along with the machine heads. The SG 310 is available in Black, Cherry or Vintage Sunburst …
